Bruce, maybe you better tie her down inside the hanger, if those drafts get extreme!
Seriously, that looks awesome! Especially with your new prop and all. Congrats!

Good reminder, yes. I have looked into it and I'm definitely planning a backup battery for my EFIS, etc.

Yeah, CJ, that makes sense now. Thanks! Your VP-X configuration sheet looks very similar to mine! I hadn't planned on battery backup. At least not for now. Mine will be a simple VFR system for a while. In the event I have a total panel blackout or lose the VP-X, I will have my Aera GPS with it's int...

CJ, nice work! It's fun seeing your progress. I looked at your electrical diagram and read the posts that follow. Am I missing something, or not reading it right? I don't see on your diagram that anything goes into or out of the VP-X, except the power cable. And then you have fuses on top of your ma...

I don't claim to have all the answers, but a good friend of mine bought a pair of gascolators from Andair that go in the fuel line on the wing root of each wing. This puts them upstream from the boost pump, so it shouldn't interfere with fuel pressure, I would think. I would check with Andair and co...

I was looking at the fuel pump enclosure for mounting the heated seat switches. I didn't think that there was enough room under there. I ended up putting the switches between the seats and in between the wing spar carry through bulkheads. Plenty of room there and nothing to interfere with. But, you...

I was wondering about those dimensions, Mike. Thanks! I'm even more interested in these now. Yeah, it shouldn't take long to come up with a suitable adapter.

And I want one of those cameras, too!

Lookin' really good there, Dave! I just went through all these steps a while back for my 7A. You've got your panel in, though. I'm just getting started on all of that. I like how you can get the wings on inside your shop! I can't do that, even with the shorter 7's wings.

Welcome, Steve! I would recommend getting someone involved right from the start. Not only for the inspection of your work, but they may be able to help you get started in the right direction and save you from making any big mistakes. One of the most common ones with newbies, for example, is under-di...

Bruce, that's really exciting! It's kind of hard to see details in the picture, but I think that's the same Comm I have my eyes on for my Advanced system I'm planning. And probably the same Intercomm, too.

Good luck getting it all installed. I'll be following your progress with great interest! :)

Mike, it was with great sadness that I learned about the accident you're referring to. And I didn't even know him. But recently I learned of a new product made by Anti-Splat-Aero. These are the same people who make the "Nose Job" stiffener for the "A" model RV's, and a number of other great products...

"A man without a dream in his heart already has one foot in the grave." I have dreamed of owning and flying my own airplane since childhood. I decided as a young kid that I would have an airplane when I grew up. But when I was in college I found out how expensive airplanes can be. I took an FAA grou...

Mike, This is awesome! What a great find! I'm thrilled to see this. Can't wait to see your complete installation, and how they work for you. Like Craig, I bought the Duckworks light kits from Vans about 5 yrs ago when I was building my wings and installed the kit in each wing. I'm glad now I didn't ...

You're absolutely right. Once the tanks are done, most everything else about the wings is downhill. Smooth sailing, f...

I did mine, too, almost exactly like Bruce described. I had some of the syringes from Target, and I just used a popsicle stick to scoop the proseal up and into them. No special magic there. And like he said, I was able to use them over and over. :) They really worked great!
