Vertical Power
Yeah, I saw them too, very neat, but a little overkill if you ask me! But at about $4k for the basic unit, I figure that might not be too bad. If you subtract out the cost of circuit breakers, switches and wires that you won't need, that helps pay for the $4K. Any idea about how much you spent on th...

Vertical Power
Does anyone have any experience with Vertical Power? Do you think it saved you a lot of time with installation of your electrical system? Any issues/problems with them? I'm thinking of the VP-100, which is their basic model. I don't think I need all the bells and whistles, I more interested in havin...

question for those with a FP Prop
I've flipped back and forth now several times on this question. FP or CS Prop? Currently, I'm leaning towards the FP. From what I understand the only downside to the FP is reduced climb rate (but still very acceptable) and possibily a harder time slowing it down. I thought I would ask some pilots wh...

Aileron Trim
Hi, Does everyone install Aileron trim? Any complaints about either manual or electric? How often do you find your self using the aileron trim? If you don't use too often, I figure manual would be fine. If you need to use alot, then Electric may be the way to go. Any installation issues with either?...

tips for trim tab bending?
OK - Looking for tips to ensure I bend the tabs correctly on the elevator trim and left elevator skin. I thought about using a hand seamer to get the bend at least started in the right place. Has anyone tried that? I would think that would work better than using a piece of scrap wood to get the bend...

How many RV7's can you squeeze in a T- hanger
Hi All, I'm getting ready to order my QB wings and fusalage and looking for a hanger to put them in. There are a few other 7 builders in the area who are also getting ready to move into a hanger and I want to try to share a hanger. Does anyone know if you can get two "in production" RV-7's in one T-...

Thanks guys. I checked with Vans and they said pretty much the same thing. It's not structural, just cosmetic. He suggested filling with superfill or body filler to fill the hole after the stiffeners are on. As long as I clean out the hole enough, I wouldn't think I'd have too much to worry about th...

extra dimpling hole
Hi, I'm sure someone else has done this too somewhere along the way. I put an extra hole in my elevator skin while dimpling (actually, my helper moved as I was striking the dimple die!). What options do I have? I'd hate to reorder the whole skin if this can be salvaged. the hole is about .15 inches ...

QB wings and fuslage at the same time?
Hi, I've got two pieces of the tail done now (H. Stablizer and V. Stablier), so I suppose it's time to start figuring out how soon I need to order the QB wings and fuslage. I notice that most people order the QB wings and fuslage together. Do the wings really not take that much time that it's worth ...

HS710 to front spar hole
I'm sure someone has run into this before! My first hole connecting HS710, HS702, and HS405 (horizantal stabilizer bar angle to front spar to main rib) was too close to the edge. I drilled a second hole that meets the minimum edge distance to both the first hole and all edges. I'm I OK to proceed? S...
