what did you do this week - 2024FW3

replaced my 6 yrs. old ABS fuel cap rain covers with new UV resistant material. were the old ones working fine? yes, but I wanted to make it look better since these reside in the cabin. I use these a lot. I am reminded of the RV9 in Northern Ohio that went down a couple yrs. ago at night because of ice in the tanks from leaking fuel caps. tape also works. do whatever it takes to keep water out of the fuel tanks.

I learned a lesson last summer when I didn't think there was a chance of rain and left my tent open. I spent the night with wet feet in the bag.

note: my magnetometer is in the tail, so the magnet does not interfere. basically, nothing I put in the cabin or baggage area will ever interfere with the magnetometer. it is too far away.

watched a really good video titled, Blue Angel FA-18 Walkaround. I never knew the throttle had so many buttons.

added a small vise to the end of a table. it's nice that the leg rollers lift away from the floor for a solid contact. I am planning on trying to make an Aeroquip 666 hose in order to understand the process. something to learn over the Winter. if anyone has some ideas on how best to DIY pressure test a hose, let me know.

this is not RV related... 58th annual Hocking Hills State Park 6-mile Winter hike but was actually 8.5 miles. temp was -13C at the beginning of the hike and basically stayed there. they really treated us well. I didn't think there would be many, but it was packed. a very nice time. highly recommended... 5 stars. my wife especially liked it.

most of Ohio is interbedded limestone and shale. this is one of the few locations in Ohio that has sandstone. it is believed that this area is a 300-million-year-old river delta. it was recently, within the past 100,000 years carved by massive glacier outflow water.

for those around this area that want to fly there. I've tried and it's tough. Vinton County airport is 13 miles away but sparsely populated. the roads are not good for bike riding, no shoulder and lots of curves. you don't even have cell service most of the time.
