A friend had a 360 built for his RV-6 a few years ago(480hrs). It's been a good motor until last month. He suffered a partial loss of power, but managed to divert and make a runway. They got it home and tore it down and this is what they found in the oil pan.
When they started tearing it down the rod bolts were all undertorqued. And this allowed the rod end caps to fret and work loose causing the failure. Failure confirmed by 2 other large shops
Aerosport will not help due to out of warranty. Even though this failure is either from improper torque or possibly defective/inferior rod bolt material. so just a FYI.
