HS710 to front spar hole

Post by n701vb »

I'm sure someone has run into this before!

My first hole connecting HS710, HS702, and HS405 (horizantal stabilizer bar angle to front spar to main rib) was too close to the edge. I drilled a second hole that meets the minimum edge distance to both the first hole and all edges. I'm I OK to proceed? Should I rivet both holes or just the one good one?

Thanks,
Vince

Vince,

That sounds reasonable to me, but I always call Van's with any structural questions like yours - and I've had a bunch, too. They'll give you the best answer.

Cheers,

A picture of the offending hole would help to see what it looks like.
Post one if you have one.

Get a picture and send it with your question to Van's. A lot of builders make mistakes in that area, and like it was said above, it's structural, so ask Van's. If they tell you to order new parts, don't worry about it, just order the parts and move on, just part of the process.

oh, and :welcome: Vince.
