I didn't know where to put this, but I knew that others would get a kick out of it. I suppose we could call the FAA a vendor. After all, they ARE here to HELP US!
Did you know that you can change your date of birth? Yes, it's true!
Go to:
http://www.faa.gov/licenses_certificate ... me_change/
...and there is a form that you can fill out to change your date of birth!
Sooooo, for all you airmen at advanced ages... here is a FEDERALLY SUPPORTED way of becoming younger!

Re: FAA Forms
Could this also be a way for the younger ones to become old enough to drink in a federally supported way as well?captain_john wrote:

So that mandatory airline retirement age is right out the window now. You get within a year of mandatory retirement... here comes the FAA to the rescue with a handy form to save your career! Way to go FAA!

Well then, let's talk about it...
I just don't get it. I mean, aside from an error in the first place... why would/should that bit of information be changed?
I know that it is the Federal Government in action, but...
Anyone have a clue?
You military guys have experience in these types of forms and procedures. What is your take on it?

Well, Im not a military guy, but my thought would be that its because the original submissions have been screwed up enough that changes in birthdate are probably warranted. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that there have been certificates issued with the wrong birthdays.
And this reminds me, if you haven't gotten one of the nifty new certificates with your SS removed, do it!

Ok, I'll bite as a former military guy and former FAA employee...captain_john wrote:I just don't get it. I mean, aside from an error in the first place... why would/should that bit of information be changed?
Mistakes happen in the FAA. I know that's hard to believe. Although the folks at the Registry in OKC are very competent, sometimes feces occur.
They happen in other places too. The state in which I grew up screwed up my birthdate on my driver's license, making me a year older than I actually was. That was very convenient!

That would have been one of the most awesome things to happen when in college. Now I wish wish they would take some years off!!!
Take care,
