I think I will come back to this later, but I really need to continue on.
Thanks.

RT Elevator - hooked trailing edge
Well, I've put this off for several months but it is time to do something about it. I finished the right elevator several months ago and the outboard side trailing edge has a hook in it. The inboard edge looks perfect, so I guess that means the elevator is warped, I think. Picture below. Any ideas o...

Fiberglass elevator tip - too long
Chad, what if I just left them long and trimmed the flange to fit into the end of the elevator?
I would avoid having to fiberglass the joint when it split. How did you reconnect the ends when they split?
Is that an option?

Fiberglass Tips - Elevators - Little too long
Hello everyone, I was test fitting my elevator tips today, and they appear to be about 1/4" too long. Is this normal. See pic below. I placed the front part of the tip into the counterweight skin and this is what sticks out of the aft end. http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae261/jimzap/RV9a/IMG_088...

Hinge vs Bandsaw
Well, I couldn't find my Dremel cutoff wheel so I used my bandsaw. Worked great.

Trim Tab bends
I finished my trim tab this week. And, yes it was very stressful. I screwed up the first one and ended up buying a replacement skin. The most important component for the bend, I think, is the form block. It must have crisp edges and be clamped in tight (make sure you don't crimp the skin anywhere el...

How to - Cutting Trim Tab Hinge
How do I trim down the Hinge that is provided for the Trim Tab. I have mostly finished the trim tab and I am at the point of cutting the hinge to the right size. I must have missed a step, because I can't find where I was supposed to do this but I'm at the point of attaching it anyway. Should I use ...

Rudder Rod End Bearings
I can't find in the instructions when to install the Rudder Rod End Bearings. I finished the rudder last night, and realized I must of missed a step. Do I put them on later?

Rudder - using tank sealant
I'm putting the rudder together and am wondering if everyone is using the tank sealant? or another type of adhesive? If you use the tank sealant, was it in the empennage kit? If I order some from Vans, should I get the one ounce, is that enough? Is it used anywhere else in the elevators? JZ Lot's of...

Great Advice
Thanks for the advice. I think I give the JB Weld a try on a test piece before I try it on the actual skin.
Thanks again.

Rudder Dimple mishap..any advice
While dimpling the rudder skin using my c-frame bench tool, and the skin slipped and I ended up dimpling where no dimple is supposed to be. Pic attached. The die even put a whole in the skin. I flattened it and drilled a #30 hole because it looked liked a crack was starting. I continued dimpling and...
