Nose gear bolt size for RV7A

I am up in the Great White North working but want to order up some goodies from VAn's. One thing I need is the Big Bolt that holds the Nose Wheel hub to the Fork on the RV7. Anyone know the size of that bolt off hand? Thanks Gary

I have a friend with a 7 who also had the eyelets break out on the bottom and changed them all out for a Camlock type arrangement which has been fine for over 3 years. Thanks again, Cheers Gary

Thanks you guys. You have convinced me the injection is the way to go and the ECI engine with improved cylinders is topping my list. The oil filter issue is not something I need to decide right now tho CJ your points regarding the 90 degree positionng, oil draining feature I also like. CJ I noticed ...

so inline placement sounds like the way to go. I have a cessna 170 now with a seized oil drain plug so I have to pull the oil strainer out of the back of the accessory case to change the oil which usually ends up running right up my sleeve so I can sympathize. Back to business anyone have experience...

Guys, my engine hunt continues. Was at the Aerosport Power folks yesterday, saw about 6 engines I wanted to put into the trunk of the car. Again too many choices but did encounter an issue perhaps you can help me with. Oil filter has two potential positions: inline extending toward the firewall or w...

Bruce, did you set up your fuel lines with provision for return lines to the tanks?? Did I see an ad for the Andair Fuel injection pump that does not need the return lines?

CJ: The Fuel Injection system sounds interesting. i got the impression it was pretty complicated. For our planes, you need quite an exotic fuel pump arrangement, is that right? Do you need additional return lines to the tanks?? If the pumps are electric, aren't ya hooped if your electric quits??? Ne...

Thanks you guys, I think the chatter regarding cylinder problems I found pretty unsettling. I am building the 7A. My thinking at this time is a fixed pitch prop, not yet arrived at using the 320 versus the 360 with carb. Want to keep it simple. Just too many choices out there. I appreciate your comm...

engine quality aftermarket versus Lycoming

Looking down gun barrel regarding engine purchase and I have been really struck with the problems in engine and part quality for after market engines if the online chatter is any indication. As engines are running around $27,000 to start, the "OLD STANDARD" Lycoming from Van's is starting to look pr...

Piano hinge pin question

The hinge pin that comes with the flaps is actually not the aviation quality pin that you ultimately use, is that correct. I think I got the aviation quality pin material with the finish kit. Anyway question which is which?? I want to hang the flaps tomorrow using the "practice" pin and not canabali...

Basic Wiring diagram for RV7

Can you folks suggest a basic wiring diagram for the RV7? Wiring for me is like Algebra so I am hoping a clear diagram would be a good first step. I expect a pretty conventional panel though i am thinking i would like a Dynon EFIS. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Gary RV7 Pitt Meadows B...
