WW RV200 service

removal with the winch was very easy. I have done it by hand several times but this is much better. the winch was very inexpensive. removed a total of about 50 grams of lead from the crank (we need to get rid of that shit). constant speed props are a hassle, but it saved my life and my wife's one ti...

Mourning dove - roosting in hanging flower basket

my daughter installed these flower baskets and within a couple of days a mourning dove was roosting there. she is amazingly trusting of us. it is possible to water the flowers with her sitting there, but we don't add much water.

Re: small winch at loft

load test .... I added about 100 lb to concrete barrel to reach 360 lb. no creaking or straining sounds. seems solid enough. I'm confident it could easily hold 1000 lb., but I don't need that much. I'll mark the beam, "Load tested 360 lb". the wood chip outs on the backside were caused from the cour...

Re: RV6 - final report- N16TG

corrected, this was RV6 not 7. I keep coming back to this one.... The pilot was in communication with air traffic control facilities during the flight, having requested and received flight-following after his departure from PTK. Air traffic control did not receive any distress calls from the pilot. ...

small winch at loft

added a small winch to the loft. could be beneficial in the future. I have an electrical junction box there so I can add an outlet for power. adequate bracing nearby, so it is stiff enough. https://i.postimg.cc/NMTP9pYg/IMG20240519113421.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/1XQ7pw5D/IMG20240519113454.jpg https:...

Re: Zizzo Liberte - folding bike

I didn't make 75 miles today, but I did make 65. I got a slow start because during my pre-flight I found a metal shim coming out of my prop hub. that took about an hour to decide what to do and then fix it. when I landed, I checked to see if my prop was still there, yep. :) I tested my new GP5 grips...

well, landing with excess speed is dangerous. put the aircraft on the correct speed for landing. https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-repgen/api/Aviation/ReportMain/GenerateNewestReport/105049/pdf The pilot reported that while landing the airplane slowed and, as the nosewheel touched down, the airplane abrup...

well, it is reported the aircraft had two bounces and then broke the nose gear. a nose wheel bounce upon landing is a serious condition. don't fight it, just punch out with power for a go around. come around again and be sure to be on speed and never push forward on the stick for landing. it should ...

Re: Zizzo Liberte - folding bike

the Zizzo speedster fitted with GP5 grips. it still folds OK but need to set the seat post low. hoping to get a 75-mile ride with this bike next week. the bike ride will probably be further than the flight. :) DOMINATION IN CYCLING | TADEJ POGAČAR 2024 https://youtu.be/DEoJd5rMeQ0?si=qE8stuyoCtemeSC...

it's been about a year since I topped these off with air. they leaked back to 38 psi over a year. so, not too bad. these have about 250 hours on the mains and 1250 on the nose. https://i.postimg.cc/HnKX22X8/IMG20240513163123.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/RFS7Vqvh/IMG20240513164605.jpg https://i.postimg.c...

well, a nose wheel bounce is a serious condition. don't fight it, just punch out with power for a go around. come around again and be sure to be on speed and never push forward on the stick for landing. it should always be gentle pulling aft... my advice to the student is to "get back up there" . **...
