I recently took these side by side pictures of Allison and Rolls engines. The model engine seems to be more similar to the Allison engine than the Rolls engine.

None the less it is a spectacular working model of the engine.

This is an area where your results may vary. When I measured mine I ran a 3/32nds steel rod through the bearings to line them up and sighted the rod for straight. I remember when doing that, that a straight line was more important to me than distance from the spar. You can fudge your rudder out a bi...

The thinking is the steam gauges are there for just in case. A person in the right seat can fly by them or just have something to look at (I'm nothing if not democratic). Swapping the AI page from the EFIS to the EMS gives a pretty good flight picture without a lot of clutter. The placement wasn't a...

Nope that's a battery tray. I ended up with that one from the fuse kit and I got a Odyssey tray with the FWF kit. I used the Odyssey battery.

The icom A210 is a comm radio only the Garmin SL-30 is comm and Nav. Makes sense for it to be a bit more expensive. The SL-40 is likely the one you mean.

I love this thread. My guess is that it smokes (what ever "it" is) because there isn't enough oxygen to support an actual flame, what with the oxygen being used up in the initial reaction in the cylinder and all. The smoke is probably to rich an environment and by the time it's lean enough to burn i...

diesel is not particularly flammable without a fair bit of compression Hmmm I don't know about that. Last time I burned brush my diesel caught fairly well. It didn't bark at me like the gasoline I'd been using :o and hung around for a good hot long time. Didn't have a bit of trouble getting it lit.
