Re: D120 Showing Large Discharge

The issue is solved!! I called Dynon Tech Support and spoke to a very knowledgeable gentleman who sent me down the correct path. He gave me a couple of things to check and I found a bad crimp on one of the wires going to the shunt. The problem is gone and I'm thrilled.

D120 Showing Large Discharge

I have a problem I thought I would post here and see if anyone has any insight into this. A few days ago my D120 was showing a sight discharge, I noticed that if a put more load on the alternator (turned on fuel pump, heated pitot, seat heater) the current went from showing discharge to a positive c...

CJ Unfortunately it isn't. My A&P friend made it out there this morning and isn't sure so I'm putting dye in the oil and taking a look with a UV lights in hopes of being sure where is coming from.
Thanks

CJ Yes these tubes do carry the a/f mixture. The oil leak is external and leaks right down the side of the sump. The lead is at the junction of the tube and the sump. It appears the tube is pressed into the sump but I'm not sure of that.

Oil Leak

I have a O-320 ECI with a carb and 2 mags. It have developed a significant oil leak where the intake tube for the #4 cylinder exits the oil sump. I have no idea have to address this issue. Any info you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Sudden High Oil Pressure

I could sure use some input!! Engine is a O-320 ECI Kit engine, 200Hr TT, I have Dynon D 100 and D120. Started it up last night, everything seemed normal, got oil temp to 100 degrees, did notice oil pressure at about 72psi at idle, didn't think too much of it, everything else in the green and took o...

I blocked 1 inch at the top of the oil cooler and finally got to fly it yesterday. The oil temp did go to 182 and stayed there until I started down. I can't say that the #4 CHT changed much at all. It was still running 340 after take off until I level off, in this case I went to 6500' and stay there...

John, since oil temp is not an issue at all I will try blocking a portion of the cooler and see what that does to the CHTs.
Brian, I found a poor crimp on the lead for the #4 EGT but have not flown it yet.
Thanks Again

Flew the plane today with the baffle in frt of the #2 cly cut down to 1/2 inch. The CHT was lower, I was happy until coming home from a breakfast the EGT on the #4 cly climbs to over 1500 degrees. Enrichening the mixture does almost nothing, pulling back the power did lower it to 1490. The CHT on th...

The oil cooler is on the left side behind the #2 and #4 cylinders. The oil temp struggles to get to 180, I have never seen 200 on the hottest days.

Thanks for the reply. I had swapped sensor leads earlier and that wasn't the problem. I have removed the baffle and will try that, Thanks Again!

CHTs

I have never been real happy with the CHT of my #2 cylinder. The engine is a 0-320, 150hp. I have tried to seal the baffles, used RTV etc. The other cylinder do not heat up in a climb as the #2 cly does. I need to climb at 105kts to keep it about 375 degrees. The #1 and #3 cylinders are the coolest ...
