Lightspeed's service and support is also top-notch. The battery box on/off button on my 20G started to stick after about a year and a half of use. I got an RMA and shipped it to them. They got them on Monday and I had the headset back in my hands on that same Thursday. (I'm in San Jose.) They replac...

My engine has a harmonic balancer on the flywheel that I may or may not leave in place. Depends on W&B results after I'm finished fooling around with the airplane. So are you going to keep the harmonic balancer in place? Does it help with vibrations any? I'm still going back and forth between FP Se...

Metal Sensenich RV prop w/2600 RPM limitation
Is anyone flying with the RV-specific metal Sensenich 70CM series prop? (http://www2.sensenich.com/direct/vans.htm) How do you like it? How restrictive do you find the 2600 RPM limitation? Is it easy to stay below or do you find yourself inadvertantly exceeding it in day-to-day operations? The RV-4 ...

hngrflyr, Woodmanrog, do tell more about Catto props! The RV-4 I bought came with a wood Sensenich prop, 68" w/ 82" pitch. I have a 150hp Lyc and according to my CFI (who is doing my checkout) the engine doesn't produce enough static RPM. He suggested replacing it with Catto Prop. My other option is...

After a couple months with the Catto Propeller, I'm glad I changed. The Catto Prop is more efficient at converting the horsepower to thrust. hngrflyr, can you elaborate a bit more on this? The RV-4 I bought has a Sensenich cruise wood prop. It's a 68" with 82 pitch, and with 150hp motor, doesn't pr...

I believe that one argument for a heavy CS prop would be to move CG forward. I was reading the RVator book last night. It has several articles about RVs being susceptible to aft CG problems, especially tandem RV-4 (which I'm now a proud owner of) and maybe -8(?), but also side-by-side planes. One wa...

Yes, I like the Citabria. Of my currently-170 hours, about 150 are in a 7ECA, including first solo and checkride. It will always have a special place in my heart. The rear in a Citabria -- it's not bad. Much better visibility than I thought. Actually, flying in the back of a Citabria is what pushed ...

I'm in San Jose, CA. The RV-4 that we just bought will be hangared at RHV, a Class D that's about 5 miles SE of San Jose International (SJC). The RV-4 we bought just before Thanksgiving is still in Vancouver, WA -- it's been raining there non-stop, so we haven't brought it back yet. It's our first a...

Convert 0-320 to fuel injection?
How hard would it be to convert an O-320 and add fuel injection?
What's the approximate parts & labor cost?
Does the cowl or anything else in the airframe needs to change?
Thx,
Max

I agree with mhflyit. I too lean towards either GRT or BM over the Dynon. Consider -- for a few hundered bucks more that Dynon, the BM Lite ($2800) gives you an HSI, GPS / moving map, IFR capability, etc. Spending more, around $6K, I too would need to decide between GRT one-screen EFIS vs. BM Sport....

Mike, are you flying yet? I'm in San Jose, CA -- would love to see your EFIS if you live in Northern California.
