G3X install
After many years I’ve buy the bullet and bought the avionics for the plane. Went with dual screen G3X, remote radio and transponder, AP, GMA245 audio panel, GTN 650 (tray only). Going into a RV7 slider. I need some ideas on where to mount the boxes and how to go about doing it. Every build is differ...

Re: Interior/seat choices
Thanks CJ. I opted and pulled the trigger for the classic aero seats as well. Comfort for the wife is important. Thank you for your insight

Interior/seat choices
Folks, In an effort not to create bad vibes. In your opinion, which seats are best (biggest bang for the buck). Those who use their RVs for travel, do you wish you did anything differently. If you have a head rest, do you find it useful or in the way? I've looked at Cleaveland, Flightline and Classi...

Re: Wiring Harness
CJ ,
Huge help. Thanks. It's a bit overwhelming. I'm going through each of the components and following their recommendations.
Did you use terminal blocks for the wires coming from the wings, or run the wire directly from the component to the switch

Re: Quick build order
Bob, I know Gary and helped him a bit on his 6. I'm also a member of that EAA chapter, but I'm still stuck. I live out in the sticks, the opposite side of town from Gary. Dave Ross is also nearby, and is a tech counselor as well. You know how it goes though, everyone is busy and timing doesn't seem ...

Re: Wiring Harness
A lot of has been moving forward on the project. My engine arrives Monday, and I've moved forward on the panel. Still much to do on the fuse though. Stein is cutting, hydro dipping and etching the panel and will make the interconnect diagrams for my panel. I will wire it up myself on the bench prior...

Re: RIP Co-Pilot Wyatt
Hope the mission goes well on Tuesday. So sorry for your loss though. I have two GSD's, can't wait to finish the plane and take them flying..

Quick build order
I'm sure others are or have been in this dilemma. I'm done with the wings, tail except for the tips. I'm working on the QB fuse, have it on its gear and the engine is coming at the end of April. But I'm having a tough time moving forward- seems like I'm bouncing around. Any suggestions on a order of...

Wiring Harness
I'm looking for insight from those who have gone before. I'm going to have Stein design, cut, dip, laser etch and make the wiring diagrams for my dual screen G3X centric panel. I was planning on making up my own harness with materials purchased from Stein. Those who have made their own harness, what...

Firewall Fwd Kit
Not a trick question. In order to keep building, I'm about to order my firewall forward kit for a IO-360. I have no engine yet, but that's th engine I will try to put in. Is there anything else I should order with it?
What about the baffle kit?
Thanks in advance,
Joe

Fuel pump plumbing question
I'm nearing the point of needing to pull the trigger of purchasing the high pressure pump and fuel valve vs going with a carb engine. So, looking at the FI for resale as well as aerobatic reasons, do I need a duplex valve for the fuel/vapor return like ECI shows? Why and why not? Why the difference?...

G3X
I'm leaning this way too and have not gotten any responses from the other website. Does the G3X show AOA? What about AP's? I'm considering the Trio GX Pro, has anybody heard anything about this unit? The price seems right. Cost is an issue (as always), but I would like to expand the panel as I can a...

QB Fueslage and Finish kit arives
My QB fues and finish kit arrived today!! Christmas in March. I had some interior skin damage on the fuse. I took some pics and sent them to Vans. I dont believe they are structural. They got damaged by the aft fuse skins that Vans placed (unsecured) inside the fuse. The real damage was in the aft f...

Aerobatic mods
Thanks for all the feed back. I appreciate your input. I was thinking about the future maint. issue and how tough it would be to replace the flop tube in the future. Right now I'm thinking fuel injection and horizontal induction (I still have time, but would like to plan accordingly) . I even made a...

aerobatic mods
I have another question for you all. I was planning on doing the aerobatic mods for one fuel tank as referenced in Vans plans. I even manufactued all of the parts required. This morning, I was thinking as I am begining to build the left tank (one with the mods) why? Was I going to perform "sustained...
Thanks
I appreciate all of the input, and believe it or not, it does really help. It shows I'm not crazy by driving myself nuts trying to figure this stuff out. You all have been there. I'm doing LED Nav lights from Aero LED. Heated Pitot (will be IFR some day), a I or O 360 with a plug for a constant spee...
Wow
Guys, Thanks for the responses!! Any other nuggets out there? All are good things to remember. I also look at other builders sites as I go along. Thanks guys

Holy Crap
I'm still working on my wings learning to love.... proseal...... and decided to order my QB fuse and finish kit. So many decisions yet to be made. I still have no idea which engine other than a 180 Lyclone, maybe fuel injected, maybe not. Maybe LED landing light, maybe not... I did order the round i...
