I ordered the large cowl and am happy with it. I have a I/O 360 parallel valve engine with the forward facing sump and use a snorkel for air induction. The only thing I have found with the large cowl covering the smaller engine, you have more air flow which results in a cooler running engine. In the...

ECI builds great components. I put 4 ECI cylinders on the O200 I put in my old Taylorcraft back in the 90's They were a great investment. Bart builds great engines and you will be happy with one of his engines. And he stands behind them. Isn't the O375 just a O360 with 9.5:1 ratio pistons? I haven't...

One thing about the angle valve engine is that it is heavier than the parallel valve. I am thinking about 30 pounds more. Therefore you have more weight up front. My parallel valve IO 360 from Bart with the electronic ignition produces about 190 hp as opposed to 200 hp in the angle valve engine. As ...

My experience has shown that Van's VNE is conservative. Shortly after flying my 40 hrs off I visited a friend of mine to show off my 8. When I left I decided to give him a low high speed pass. I noticed when I started to level off that the controls were unusually stiff. After leveling off I glanced ...

Yes Brantel, and the next thing is doing it yourself! I've done a little formation flying and it does take a lot of concentration. But it is fun and rewarding!

Guy,

I get the same results with my 8 / WW200RV combo. It's a tad faster than the other simular configured RV 8's.

Enjoy!!

I'm not sure just how that will work especially if your heater is not water cooled. How would you be able to regulate the airfrow from an exhaust heater, mainly on decent with the power reduced?

Hey Weez, Know how you feel. I suffered the same thing just about 7 months after finishing my 8. Just keep on building and look for alternative treatments. They work better than chemo and radiation. Those things (c&r) don't work on my stuff so I'm left with little choice and the alternative medicine...

I installed my hinge pins to insert thru the forward baggage compartment on my 8. It works good for me and they will wear in with time and get easier to insert. I like the bit of having no exterior hinge pin covers to marr the cowl.
