Re: Black Otter 2019!

A great time was had by all, as usual. It is always great seeing everyone each year. I believe this was the 14th RB dinner. The first was in 2006 at the Prime Quarter restaurant in Appleton. Since then it has been at the Otter. I think I have been at about 10 of the 14 dinners. I look forwar to next...

Re: Black Otter 2019!

What time at the Otter?

I have room in my car for 3. I usually take CJ since nobody else can put up with him for that long!

Re: Raven Inverted Oil

The unit is easy to install assuming there are enough fittings already on the sump to attach all of the hoses. I am still building my -8 and originally installed the system thinking I might do some aerobatics, however I decided to remove it. I still have the unused system sitting i a box in case any...

So far I am planning on doing OSH this year. Went to SnF for a day, not much interesting.

Re: Black Otter 2018!

I just arrived at Osh so I am in for the Otter. What time do we meet there on Tuesday? I may have seats as well. Did anyone notify the Otter?

There are cases where the B&C starter will not fit. It would not work on my engine, If I remember correctly there was some interference with the linkage for my fuel injection on the forward facing sump. I couldn't use the Skytec inline starter either so I had to go with the basic Skytec starter, I f...

I'm not going to make it this year either. Just too many other things going on right now. Definately going to miss the Otter. Should be back next year.

CJ,

I'll get some pics one of these days. Moving along slowly. If it were not zero time engine they may have wanted to go to the 300 hours, but since it was zero time, it should start out with non-AD parts.

It is a zero time engine so they replaced them at no cost.

I just did the ECI Cylinder AD replacement for all 4 of my cylinders. ECI was very good about it. It cost me the return shipping for the old cylinders, but that is all.

I generally tell people that the only difference between my plane and a "professionally" built plane is that mine is built by someone who has looked at every rivet and screw knowing that I'll fly in it as opposed to being built by the "professional" guy who doesn't care because he knows he will neve...

Jeff, If you ar really upset about it, there are companies that can probbaly recover the lost data from your disk drive. I had my system crash and lost a lot of data but I was able to recover most of it. It is not cheap but most data can be recovered. You can search the Internet for data recovery co...

There is nothing wrong with thinning tank sealant, but use Toluene not MEK. You can add up to 13% Toluene (by weight) and it will not affect the properties of the sealant, but you probably won't need that much to get it to a consistancy that you can brush on. I got this info directly from Flamemaste...
