NOT ONE comment about the girls!?! Man, you guys ARE airplane nuts!!! hahaha Oh alright ... You are such a lucky joker CJ, bet the night flew by with all the bat wings wrapped around you. I am really starting to like that method of canopy assembly, especially after seeing a number of cracked ones a...

Welcome Mike! Even if you don't plan on starting until spring, order the preview plans, all the drawings are there (in smaller format) and lots of good things to read and look at before starting. I got my preview plans months ahead of time, really glad I did so when the tail kit showed up I was read...

You have to decide for yourself when good is good enough, but it sounds like you checked it quite extensively. Even the smallest of leak should show up with the soapy water test, I had a heck of a time getting rid of the tiny leaks at the drain port valve I was using to pressurize the tanks with. So...

I have certainly been following that thread, and the idea sure seems to have a lot going for it. If I had to decide right now, I would likely be putting one on my 7A. Time will tell if there is ever an official comment from Van's. They have commented on other 3rd party 'improvements' to various RV t...

From looking at my pictures, it appears as if I did the leading edge first and work back from there. I do remember drilling out a few of those nose rivets until I figured out how to get my hand and bucking bar in the right place. The other trick is getting the flush set on the gun at about the right...

When I put mine on I used sealant between the z-bracket and baffle, so leaks would not be an issue. Also, you already have a pretty good doubler right there in the form of the z-bracket. My opinion is you would be hard pressed to find a real expert (unlike myself who is not) that would have any prob...

That short 10 minute inspection by someone who has built that many planes really DOES say a lot about how much care you had put into your building. You will never lose the pride, experience, determination or memories of how it made you feel while you learned new things and conquered them. I will alw...
