Falcon instruments
I'm getting ready to start building my 9A panel but have a limited budget(Wife) and am not planning on a glass cockpit. I prefer steam. I want go with an electric AI. Falcon has one along with other instruments with very decent prices. Unfortunately I keep reading bad things about Falcon. I would li...

Gouges in bolt hole
Working on the left gear weldment yesterday. While removing the bolts during the fitting process, some were tight and had to be "unscrewed", the threads left some scratches inside the holes drilled thru the spar(center section assembly) which kind of concerns me. The scratches are similar to if you ...

ELT antenna question
I plan on simply putting the ELT antenna on top of the aft portion of the fuselage. My question is do I need a doubler beneath the skin and about what size?

Flap bearing block

Well here I go, fat, dumb, and happy. I grab my drill and proceed to dill the upper hole and just as I ...

I think I figured out at least the pitch part. It works like a VSI. If you are climbing, the AI will show you nose up, if you are descending, the opposite. Where it's different from a traditional AI would be like in slow flight. You may have your nose pitched up, but as long as you fly level, Trutra...

Electronic AI
I'm starting to plan my panel and while I don't want to go full electronic(meaning an EFIS of MFD) I want reliable. TruTrak has an electronic AI that looks interesting and goes for about a grand. I figure for the cost of a non-TSO AI and a vacuum pump I can get the truTrak and not have to worry abou...

Thanks for all the help guys. When it comes to calculating torque with an extension, go to our friend Checkoway's site and use this handy dandy calculator: http://www.rvproject.com/mechanic.html. Higher math gives me a headache.
