Chad/Mike Yanked out the shipping strut and forward fuselage structure now in place. Tons of avionic/instrument space at this point and easy to get at with the tip up canopy lay out. Maybe more than 10 grand to fill up all that space. Thanks again. Like the Jabily........engine thing also, Cheers Gary

Just now there was an RV7 slider as the intro picture to RB. White with blue and red trim. Very sharp paint job. Would anyone know how I could get another look at that plane? Thanks Gary

quick build question
On the quick build fuselage at bulkhead 902 I have a strut which runs accross the top from left to right. I am thinking it is a shipping thing to keep the forward cabin from flexing as i don't see it in the plans. It also conflicts with the forward cabin structure. Does this sound right? Any quick b...

I found the 18 teeth per inch blade with Vermont American which is carried by the local hardware store on special order. They usually stock the 14 teeth per inch which I am gonna try while waiting for the 18. Thanks you all for your help. Now to get my roll bar positioned in 3 demensions before scre...

I got a Ryobi 9 inch. the blade is 59 inches long and I found one with 18 teeth per inch. It was an absolute pleasure to use BUT i busted the blade and I can't find anyone with another one. Home Depot carries these here in Canada but only the 15 teeth per inch. Any ideas where I can get a new 18 tee...

Chad Thanks. I think it is a pretty pivotal issue since so much stuff will be impacted by the placement of the roll bar. One thing it think is helpful and Dan C also points this out is to put on the skin that encloses the rear window. The edges come forward and you locate the roll bar out board moun...

Roll bar position
I am getting ready to mount the roll bar assembly onto the fuse (tip-up canopy) and I am finding it a little vague on the plans just how to get it positioned fore to aft. There is a note to place it at station 56 inches and a bit. i can't rember the exact fraction. The station is relative to what?? ...

Thanks you guys. Brad I checked out your engine page which was interesting and helpful. It really is a complex topic but also interesting. As you say I will keep talking/reading and try to come up with an engine choice that is correct for my mission type. Since I have ya on the phone regarding mag/i...

Thanks you guys. I am thinking about the IO 360 M1B ideally, if I win the lottery. I would like the CS prop also have to see what the budget can tolerate. I would like to get the firewall forward kit/engine mount and I think the mounts are different for each engine, is that right?? Narrowing the eng...

O-360 types
I am getting to a point where I need to make a decision on an engine. I am going to go with a 360 but I don'k know the differences in the types. For example the "A" vs "B" and I think there is even an "M" designation. Can anyone help me get my brain around all the various "flavors" of engines out th...

The bellcrank isn't in BUT I did manage to get the pushrod in. The rear threaded end hung up on the bulkhead about one inch. I removed it from the push rod tube and this gave me the clearence I needed. Pushrod falls nicely to floor and wiggles straight through to the stick assembly. No can opener re...

If I try to install it from the rear (sounds like a bad joke) under the flap motor area, the forward end of the pushrod firmly hits the belly and is against the bulkhead/structure immediately below the forward area of the flap motor attachment. Seems like if I opened up the upper aspect of the passa...

Regarding the elevator push rod which connects the stick assembly to the bellcrank behind the baggage area, how the heck do ya get that thing into the tight tunnel it is supposed to go into without a can opener?? Was i supposed to build the plane around it?? Any tricks I am missing? Thanks g

wing angle incedence
When you are drilling the rear wing spar you must first align the wing to give a +1degree angle. The plans say to place a level on the wing and using a 3 inch block position this over the web of the rear spar. My question is since the web is mabe 1/2 an inch wide, just where on the web would be the ...

I got a bag of Boeing surplus drill for Fathers day. The drill ends all have clyndrical ends with 6 shallow holes where you would insert the end into the drill press. Does anyone know what type of drill these would be and where to get an adapter to accept this kind of drill?? I have lots of good siz...
