Thanks! CXP is where my Stinson came from, and I would be flying it down. The RV project has been on a 3 year hiatus, but I just put the final screws in some new work benches tonight. Maybe I can get back to it this summer :)

Do you have anymore details? Contact info, time and location on the airport, etc? This is something I wouldn't mind attending :)

Hey Chad, no, it's the other purple Mustang at a time when it was between racing canopies :) I did have an encounter with Clay's Mustang when I was about 13 though. My cousin and I had just walked across the runway where we lived (a little 2500' strip) and out of no where, we get a flyby from this p...

Congrats on the ride! So how many Big Beautiful Doll's are there? I understand that the original is in a museum in the UK, and there was the one that crashed a couple years back after the mid-air... Here's a couple of pics of my ride in one from '06: http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c399/rtripdrive...

The two things that interest me with the -14 are the more advanced nature of the kit and the added fuel capacity. I added the fuel capacity with the Hotel Whiskey ER tanks, and I think I'm far enough along in my build that I think I'd be going backward starting over, even with a more advanced kit (n...

Ya'll have fun out there!

Hey Bruce! It's always a moving target at this point, and at the pace I'm going, electric might be the only option by the time I'm ready  Leaning towards a high compression parallel valve IO-360. I'd LIKE to have 200hp at my home airport (4100'), but you never know what will happen until it do...

Thanks guys :) It should make for a good time builder/family hauler. Once I finish my PPL, no more 5+ hour trips in the car to see family or make it to the coast 8) After the kid came along, those trips have been pretty hard on my wife (and therefore, ME). CJ, the paint certainly isn't perfect (some...

That is beautiful. Wow. What are the details? Did you do that cowling yourself? John Thanks guys! I got all of the kits they offer (precut wood, etc.), and the nose of the cowl was already pre-shaped and the ribs (63 of them!) for the cowl were precut, but each one still needed to be tapered to fit...

I haven't touched the RV in a few months, and have switched materials from aluminum and rivets to wood and glue. There's no RV grin at the end of this project, but I can't imagine how big the grin will be when it's done! I present to you the "GeeBee Grin"! http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c399/rtri...

I can't believe I successfully ignored that thread up until now, and just spent a good portion of my morning reading/scanning through it. Sure came across as a "vocal minority" situation to me. I know that I would still plan to attend AV even if someone called for a boycott, and I'm sure I'm not the...

I build skydiving harnesses. I can't say that our jump in orders is due so much to the economy turning around or anything like that, so much as hiring a marketing person. Either way, I'm not complaining! :)

I'm going to try to be a ray of hope in this thread by saying that my business seems to be growing rapidly this year, and we just moved into a bigger location :) Now, I just need the bank account to follow suit, and the time to get back to the RV :)
