Me too! Unfortunately, I found out this past week I tore my Achilles' tendon. I'm hoping I can get final assembly before surgery, but first flight will have to wait for a couple months.

Picked up the fuselage from the painter this morning, then watched OSU beat Michigan. What a great way to spend a Saturday! http://www.kitlog.com/photos/project_260/full/FP24112012A0000O.jpg http://www.kitlog.com/photos/project_260/full/FP24112012A0000N.jpg http://www.kitlog.com/photos/pro...

Almost Done with Fuselage

Janice and I stopped by the painters last night. It's just about done. The painter still has a few touch ups to do, so all the paper and tape haven't been removed yet. It's scheduled to head back to the hangar on Saturday. http://www.kitlog.com/photos/project_260/full/FP20112012A0002A.jpg http://www...

Another minor delay. We were apply the paint masks and my wife noticed that the right side was N410BL (correct) and the left was N401BL (not correct). So were are waiting for the new mask to show up. Hopefully, we'll get the final paint sessions done this weekend. The following photos show the right...

N410BL Final Stretch

I thought I would move these out of the "Whatcha Doing" thread to the RV-10 forum. The paint process has finally started to pick back up now that my painter is over his kidney stones. We got the Metallic Phantom Gray, Metallic Silver, and the clear coat on the fuselage this weekend. Wil be starting ...

At least I am seeing some progress. My painter is still having medical issues, but he did get the primer and white on the fuselage this past week. My wife and daughter assisted me yesterday in getting the tape line for the metallic Phantom Gray marked. Below the blue tape line will be gray. I hope t...

Since I'm just in the process of painting, I'll share some of the items I've learned during the process. 1. My wife owned the design and color process, but I retained veto capability in case she wanted to do something bizarre. This caused her to take ownership of the design and she's been more engag...

BOB, How is that paint job coming along? Do you have any updated pictures? :? CJ Not much progress. My painter is dealing with a kidney stone. We are going on a week and he still hasn't passed it, although it moved and he's in less pain. Nothing like being held hostage by something you have totally...

Interesting view Bob, and maybe a good one. For me the 200HP class just makes so much more sense. I agree that the 540 is a great engine, but I just don't see the need for the extra large purchase price or the price of maintaining & feeding the extra 2 cylinders. I wonder if they would be able to s...

Though come to think of it Van originally put out the 10 with a 210 HP but has since backed away from it. Wonder how much work it would be for them to put together a 210HP package that they would find acceptable. Maybe a slightly smaller version of the 10? Just dreaming obviously. Alternatively if ...

I have a backup for everything on the panel, so why not redundant stall warning devices?

Not a help to the OP, since there is only a RV-10 version today, but this may give you some ideas. This is the new cowl light from Aerosport Products that Geoff showed off at Oshkosh

Re: FAA 51% question Question

I recently read an article that mentioned there were 119 separate items the FAA has listed as required to complete, to comply with the amateur built rule. In order to meet the 51% rule minimums, (the article stated) the builder needed to complete a minimum of 60 of these items... I looked all over ...

If somebody really wants a good deal, here's one:

It's not a fire sale, but it does include air conditioning already plumbed.
