I am finishing up my HS and I also see scratch marks on the skins where my rib tips made it through the vinyl. I'm not sure how deep these are. I read all the comments, I'll try the various flavors of scotch brite. Thanks for the tip. My question is what happens after the scotch brite? The Vans asse...

...then I discovered I didn't understand the single sheet of instructions. Specifically, the "brake" part. I emailed Vans and inquired if I had recieved all the instructions. Vans insisted I had. I then took a builders course and purchased some training videos. Most mysteries have been resolved and ...

Some Candidate Extended Range Tanks
Hello. Here is a update on my extended range tank search. http://www.flymore.com.au has tip tanks for us, the web site says 12.5 US gallons per tank. This seems to be exactly what I'm looking for, but the price w/shipping, currency exchange, etc. is $3.6K - which seems pricey but maybe I'll change m...

Is this a TV show? I rarely have time for TV, but this sounds interesting. What network would that be?

Extended Range Fuel Tanks for RV-8?
Does anybody have an example of a RV-8 w/extended range tanks? I'm only looking for another hour of flight time during the rugged, frigid California winter.
I know this doesn't seem appropriate for the usual RV-8 mission, but I have my reasons (spelled IFR).
Thanks.

Thanks for the response
Very interesting. I fly a fair amount of "light" IFR - no ice for me thank you. I commute to work in the San Francisco bay area in my Cherokee which routinely requires a climb/descent through the marine layer. Today I do it the old fashioned way (no GPS, government approach plates, etc). I think I w...

All this Garmin stuff from Vans
What avionics are you buying for your RV? How did you run down all the details? I have a few starter questions. For example, what is the purpose of a multifunction display (like a MX-20)? I see a approach plate is displayed in the sample pictures. The supporting GPS (like a GNS-530) does not display...

Great Answers
That URL was quite inspirational. Apparently, size is (almost) no excuse.

How tall and heavy are RV-7 drivers?
I like the side by side seating of the RV-7 and RV-10 (and Lancair Legacy, for that matter). I think the RV-7 would be a easier project to complete, I'm just concerned about being able to fit in one. I'm 6'4" and 260 pounds. My wife isn't small either. I currently own a Warrior and that works OK for...
