KACK Xmas Stroll

http://www.rivetbangers.com/g2data/forums/albums/users/wickedstick/ack_xmas_.jpg This morning we flew into Nantucket for breakfast, then into town for the annual X-mas Stroll. Cobblestone streets lined with decorated trees in front of each store front. http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4...

Mark, There often are instances in the rivet call outs that are sometimes a little shorter than optimal. This makes it easier to buck a proper head on it, but does sometimes leave it too thin. I would suggest purchasing a few different 1/2 size bags of rivets to have on hand so you end up with the c...

Cleco'd

When I was talking about my build, I may have been misleading.
There's no need to rivet the skins on before drilling the tank attach brackets. Cleco'ing them on should be enough to prevent any twist when doing the drilling you are about to do.

Joe, I would put as much of the skins on as you can to hold the wing in alignment when drilling them. I think I had at least the top skins and the outboard bottom skins on when doing mine. I understood the instructions as saying "it could affect the twist" so I thought it best to have the ...

Hangars here are around $300 to $400 a month if you can find one. My Insurance for my RV-8 is about $1,500 a year for 80K hull and I'm a 1,000 hour pilot. Probably more like $2,250 for a newly minted pilot, but just a guess. Registration is $100 per year Fuel here is $5.85 a gallon, it had curbed my...

Re: Fuse-mounted antenna doubler pics

All, While we're riding out the remnants of Irene, I decided to fabricate some stiffeners for the Delta Pop Aviation comm antennas I plan to use. The antennas are going in the outermost left/right seat rib bays, just behind the wing spar. Here are a couple of pics... http://www.mightyrv.com/picture...

Way cool Joe! MVP! Major Visible Progress! I had some MVP today too. I did the big cut in my canopy! It even looks correct to boot! It is nice when you do a bunch of work and NONE of it seems to be bad! Hahahaha ;) CJ Hey CJ, how about posting a picture of the big cut. I've been way too busy this s...
