Actually ... if you go in for both tests (upper and lower) they use the same scope. Once the upper is done, the scope goes in the bottom!

Or, send a fax. I have heard there may be problems with mail due to all the security issues ... and if you happen to be eating a powdered donut when you seal the letter you may have real problems! Calling is also apparently a good idea; I just got a message from AOPA and aviationacrossamerica.com to...

Eagle Creek is OK, I'm just not too sure about lodging around there ... it would probably be just your average motel type thing. Rick's Boatyard is a nice restaurant, right on the water. It would be cool if we could fly in somewhere and camp or have lodging right there - like Gaston's resort ... goo...

My family owns several hundred acres of farmland here in central IN, and I have been talking with my parents about the possibility of putting in an airstrip out there. One of the local RV (rocket, actually) guys does excavation, and has built a couple perfect runways for others in the area. So, if t...

WOW!!!!! That is SLICK!! You are going to have one sweet looking -8 with that and a James cowl. I am considering the aerocomposites prop ... what made you decide to go with them? Why did you decide on 3 vs. 2 blade? I would really like to see a side by side comparison of the aerocomposites prop with...

Do you have a single offset rivet set? That leaves the gun at an angle and is good for spots like that.
The -8 is a little different so I haven't tried that exact area, but it looks like a single offset would work.

I didn't know you could rent bikes from a dealer ... was it pricey? What kind of "credentials" do they require - just a motorcycle endorsement on your license?
Thanks for the pics ... although they were a little skimpy on the tandem taildraggers

I would ask the guy doing the welding where he can get the strongest welded joint and how he would prefer it to be cut. There is probably a way that would be best for them - they might even cut it for you...

Thomas, I mean marginal VFR is a fact of life. It just happens. :) CJ I guess I see what you mean, but I have to disagree. I don't think it "just happens." With all of the weather resources we have both on the ground and in the air, I think that if you fly in marginal VFR you are making the decisio...

if you plan on doing any cross country (I am sure you do) marginal VFR is a fact of life. Really? What do you mean? I am strictly VFR - no instrument ticket yet. I fly to CO from IN every now and then (once a year or so) but haven't had any marginal VFR experiences ... I am pretty anal about the we...

I have the same elbow as CJ, and mine worked just as well!
Once your nuts are smeared in proseal you won't have anymore problems with them (the AN924s, anyway!)
I also put just a little proseal on the threads of the fitting where the nut would be just to help keep it in place.

It has been there over the winter and with the humidity when the snow mel...

Did you ever get into one of the rider classes? I am having trouble getting into one here in IN, too - they fill up fast. shipping question

Has anyone ordered any "long" items from Van's? I need some P4 hinge to allow for the edge distance when I attach my flaps. I was wondering how they would ship this and what the cost would be (it is 6' in length). I was thinking about adding some misc stuff (angle stock, etc) if it wouldn't really c...
