NIce pic John, I like the piano. I restored a 7 1/2 ft. Knabe from 1881 a few years ago. It's my piano now and it has a really great tone.
A Merry Christmas to you and your family, and to all the gang.

Okay, as I understand the question. a 1200 lb. plane with a 150 lb pilot vs. a 1100 lb plane with a 250 lb pilot. My RV8 at gross is 1800lbs and all RV8's are grossed at 1800 lbs. This means that if my plane weights 1200 lb empty,I can have a pay load of 600 lbs. If my plane weights 1100 lb empty, t...

The 6A I helped test fly had manual flaps and we found out that they are best if you need to get rid of them in a hurry. We had about 5,000 ft agl and were doing stall trials. I suggested trying a secondary stall with full flaps. The primary stall went great but trying to hold it in a stall for the ...

Mark, I ran mine thru the vertical stab just above the center hinge point where I drilled a 1/2 in hole for the wire, and then ran the wire down the rudder thru a slot I cut in the rudder L.E. and down to the lower faring then back to the tail light in the faring. I protected the wire with some line...

Well, the only real problem I had was with the induction snorkle. It is made to fit the angle valve engine and is about 1 inch too wide for the parrell valve eng. I had to cut it down and re-shape the sides to make it fit the K-N filter. But reshaping does give you a flat spot for the alternate air ...

Okay guys. Here's the straight scoop! My 8 has an Aerosport Power I/O360 M1B with Light Speed Plasma II electroinc ignition, fuel flowed and ported. At atlitude, 7,000 and up, I set the rpm at about 2440 and the throttle full fwd, and lean for 50 deg rich of peak, about 1360 deg F. My average speed ...

joe,
I scarfed mine and glad I did. If you don't, it will leave a small lip in the slipstream creating some drag. Also you will see it when the paint is on it
But it's your plane, do what you want!

WE have several at SFF. One guy has built about 8 RV's . Someone seems to be waiting for him to finish one so they can buy it. I fly with 4 or more. And I am helping with three under construction. there are probably more than twenty around the Spokane area. If we could all get together we could star...

Don't really know why you guys are going with Air performance injection systems. I used the Precision Air Silver Eagle, the non certified version of the Bendex RSA, and I only had to run one fuel line. No return lines. After 135 hrs, it runs perfect! 8)

RV's handle the turbulance quite well. Mine does fishtail in heavy turbulance but it is very managable. I went to Arlington, WA yesterday to visit with my son. That's about 268 statute miles from Spokane Felts Field (KSFF)where I keep my 8. The trip over was a little slow and it took about 1 hr and ...

I believe the RV6T became the RV 7 as it and the 8 have the larger vertical stab and rudder. It helped solve th 6's spin problem.

I did allthe riviting on my wings by myself. not a big deal. Right Chad?! I curved the skins from front to back instead of inboard to outboard. Either way works. good luck with'em!
