On earth as it is in Texas. :)

I'm all for it.

So what's the skinny on your after OSH group buy? I really want to get in on the governor buy but I don't have nearly enough info about my engine to do so... :(

The stuff I have seen posted elsewhere seems to indicate that the fuel burn had been addressed and was very similar to the Lyco. It looks like a slick setup. My main concern is that I am building the -8 for the most performance possible - not necessarily as a x-country machine. I don't want to sacri...

Mistral

OK, I'm sure I'm gonna go with a lyclone for the -8 ... But I remember looking at the Mistral engines at OSH last year. They seem like a cool product, well engineered. Ignoring the cost, what are the downsides? There does not appear to be a FWF kit for the RV series yet, I guess you need a somewhat ...

I got my 90deg drill from yardstore.com
I have wondered if the 45deg would be more useful; I have used the 90 a handful of times but there are lots of times when the handle gets in the way ... it seems like the 45 might be a better all around tool. Thoughts?

I haven't been doing much work on the -8 lately ... a little deburring here and there, and lots of internet research to plan the interior, etc. I did fly out today in the 170 with Stu to a local old timer's grass strip. This guy has 4 (yeah - four) HUGE hangars - like FBO size - on his farm and they...

Generator?? :?

The wiring to the AC shouldn't be that much ... keeping in mind that it is "temporary" (aka redneck style) you really just need the wire and a new breaker for the box. No problemo...

I know this is kinda redneck-style, but you could even run the wire outside around the outside of the house and leave it temporarily. I didn't run a line for the window unit when I did the wiring, as I was sorta planning on central heat/air (yeah, right$$$). Now I just have a wire with a metal box a...

I was lucky enough to do the wiring for my shop myself and have dedicated 200A service, so I have a 220 line for the compressor and for the AC. Depending on where your box is, it wouldn't be too difficult to run a wire - it could even be like an extension cord that you roll up and stow in the off se...

I keep all the doors closed and the AC on when it is hot. I also have a bug zapper left over from when I was a kid in the 70's/80's ... it really only works well when the lights are off, so is better for entertainment when drinking a beer at the end of the workday. They make screens that are designe...

How do you get the wings past those red posts? I assume they move, but then what supports the front?
Looks good ... now all you need is a beer fridge and you're ready to go!

I have done etch / alodine / AKZO 2 part epoxy for all of the interior parts (except skins - although I did the skins on the tail, as they are not accessible). My thought is that I KNOW it will be good forever - I have no plans to sell the airplane. All the other stuff I've tried (rattle cans, etc) ...

I wondered about the helicopter thing, too the other day - we had a guy doing pattern work to the right. As it turns out, this may be acceptable: "A helicopter operating in the traffic pattern may fly a pattern similar to the airplane pattern at a lower altitude (500 AGL) and closer to the airport. ...
