Re: RivetBangers.com - Only SECURE RV Forum

Well, glad to hear that Mike. Although I got no clue about encryption and evesdropping but I like the way you think about your parish.
I somehow earned myself couple friends in an agency which starts from the 6th letter of the alphabet I am sure they would love to hack my code.

Re: Fresh meat!!!

Welcome Zach! Don't worry about PPL get the airplane done first. I took my checkride after I had airworthiness certificate for my RV9A. Couldn't stop since then. What airport are you planning to be based at? KBTF?

Re: Finding a good Paint Shop

Once I landed at Lake Placid, NY and was met by a fellow RVator Phil. He showed me his operations and his RV6. I was trying to be smart and told him it's my paint scheme and I am collecting royalties. His 6 looks brilliant. Unpainted! Phil bounced back hey I am flying for 20 years and you?... so who...

Thanks Bruce. Private it will be. The drone pilot had "an approval" from airport manager and later was met by a FSDO inspector on site. All good.

Re: Landing on ICE! (Alton Bay - 1B8)

Was nice meeting you Mikey! I had a meat servo in the left seat driving my lazy butt to Alton Bay. He got about 5K hours in some cool Russian hardware but never landed on ice. Here we go that's your opportunity Igor. We met CJ at the same airport with cheap gas. Wondering how your tail wheelie didn'...

Re: Ground cable to replace

OK fellers today I sourced the cable and lugs. Price - free. Can't afford to pay more just logged another 1.4 h on the hobbs today. Will it ever end? :) CJ take a look at the insulation. You can quote Electric Code by heart can you tell me the temperature this insulation is good for? http://i447.pho...

Re: Ground cable to replace

CJ you know what? You damn right it's been under a stress. Three batteries changed, once in a while an oil wrench slips etc. Could be the reason not vibration as I initially thought. What's wrong with lugs? Seriously?

Re: Ground cable to replace

Thanks Mike that's a great idea about lugs. It's been too long since I was building. I do have the same lug at the alternator. My coworker is an electrician by trade and has tons of lugs in his truck. I also check with him on the wire and let you know tomorrow if able to source it. BTW how is your a...
