According to Dan, it won't work that way in the -7 though.

A buddy of mine is building a Sonex. Very efficient airplane on so little power. That might be fun. And, speaking of floats, there is one Sonex on floats I do believe. This is a rating I would like to get in the near future. One that I would have no use for, but would be cool to get! Other than that...

Whoooaaaa...them sound like fightin' words. Just kidding! I think there is too much debate on the topic. Some prefer one over the other and have their reasons. I'm a nostalgic person, and that emotion made me decide on the taildragger, regardless of what people and the insurance company say. I...

Yep, saw that a couple of days ago. He must have just sent that to Dan, cuz it wasn't there a few weeks ago.

I think he is having his -7 painted this week. I'll get a pic of it after it's done, and post it for him. Should be a head turner...of course, all of them are!! 8)

Phil,

What is the base made of? Looks like solid iron from the pic. Interesting alternative to purchasing one. If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost you in materials to fabricate this?

Preview plans and training kit here!

Well, my first step has arrived!! Wow! What a TON of information to start with! Has anyone done the training kit, or did most of you just dive right in? I am going to do a workshop at OSH this summer, but I do have some metal experience under my belt, including riveting. I am planning on ordering an...
