well, it appears to be a difficult location to make a forced landing. year of manufacture was 2024, so it was new. https://aviation-safety.net/wikibase/376681 An experimental Van's RV-9A, kit built by JMTT LLC, crashed on a road at Hwy 53 and Hill City Rd. in Jasper, Georgia. The sole pilot was take...

Re: Zizzo Liberte - folding bike
Columbus Ohio Museum of Art. flew into OSU Airport, $10 landing fee. it's a busy place with lots of jet traffic and flight training. OSU has 3 runways and were using 27 L and R with a high loading. contacted clearance delivery to get out and needed to hold short at a taxi way for a while, a busy pla...

well, another electronic ignition lead becoming loose. this is becoming a pattern. these are happening with relatively low hours. 219 Hrs at time of accident https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-repgen/api/Aviation/ReportMain/GenerateNewestReport/107044/pdf On April 8, 2023, about 1830 central standard time,...

a little rain on the way out. on departure for home, wind 60 deg from the left 22, G27. left wind is worst case. needed some right brake on takeoff to keep it straight until the rudder became effective. my lucky water bottle returned after being missing for a month. picnic table at the perfect angle...

Re: a couple printed widgets
forward bracket version 2, better. for $30 you get a nice trail cam, batteries, 32 GB memory card, mounts, etc. and very clear to setup and operate. it works. amazing value. there is no way this trail cam can be built and delivered for $30 unless they are making millions of them. and yet the electro...

Re: a couple printed widgets
vert stab tri-cam.... a couple prototypes. they all seem to work but I don't like the center bracket on the last one. it pushes the camera too far forward and may catch more wind. if I were to use one today it would be the second one, but I needed to shave off some of the trial camera. I am modifyin...

Re: a couple printed widgets
first protype vertical stab tri cam is pretty good. lifting the cam in place was easy with the rod but no wind in the hangar. need the rod fork. the mount is designed for that and should be fine for lifting in windy conditions. I'll be rolling back into Empire (Y87) this Summer with all cameras roll...

Re: 5 pepper breakfast burrito
guacamole on the side. not for the purest but I thought I would take the risk and try it. eat it on the side. would I do it again, maybe, but not normally because it reduces the pepper burn. you want the burn. homemade food is 10X better than restaurant, at least American fast-food restaurant, and t...

Re: a couple printed widgets
vertical stab cam mount.... brackets designed for .125 bend radius so I needed to find a way to make that radius. I used 3 sheets of .032 to make the bend radius. learned a couple things. when making a less than 90 bend you need to adjust the brake bend sight line. otherwise the brackets are perfect...

Running is good exercise
running is actually good for your knees. it is also good for the lungs for flying at 13.5K for hours. 3 to 5 miles a day will keep you in shape and can be done quickly. allows for more beer. https://www.nm.org/healthbeat/healthy-tips/fitness/is-running-bad-for-your-knees#:~:text=In%20fact%2C%20multi...

comparing a couple green sauces. I like the Cholula green the best. Tabasco scorpion adds the heat. make the coffee really hot to get a free secondary burn. the cheese should be extra sharp. kick your feet up, crank the music and enjoy. you can really feel it when it finds your feet. forget the doct...

after six years my suspa canopy gas struts were becoming weak. I believe Mike on this site was the first to recommend these struts many years ago. they last 3X as long as the factory struts and are higher loading. canopy bumpers may be some benefit. to make strut removal easy, remove the spring clip...

cable stop for mechanized wheel chock.... added a small cable to prevent the spring from ever being over extended. seems to work fine but has some end sticking out. I don't believe that will be a problem, but I'll test if for a while. the cable stop will only be used in case of an inadvertent direct...
