Brad and I have had this conversation many times, going back to my week-long date with him at OSH '07. For the record, I drank a lot of beer at OSH 07 but it had no effect... Chad didn't get any better looking. :) While that may be true, you did share an umbrella when it rained... an obvious...

This thread makes me feel very comfortable with my decision to go with the Bearhawk as opposed to an RV-7 or -8. Lots of work ahead and money to spend, but with a wife that is totally supportive, it's doable although still quite intimidating. :o

You chuck it in the drill and the stainless steel brush cleans away everything in it's reach! You could fab a mini sanding disk out of some non-metallic sandpaper and bond it to something chuckable as well. I'm thinking that would be preferred because couldn't the steel brush leave behind some micr...

Merry Christmas all!

Merry Christmas to all. It's been a great year - finally getting the shop done, deciding on the correct plane model for my mission, and meeting a bunch of you fellow 'bangers at Airventure in July. Looking forward to more get togethers in the future, and asking lots of questions during my building s...

Re: WICKED buzz job!

OK: What I meant to say is - over here we have a 500 foot rule which says: An Aircraft must not fly closer than 500 ft to any person, vessel, vehicle or strcture Do you not have similar, or can you really fly down 'Main street' at 200ft All I saw was a guy doing a low pass over a very narrow and po...

Cool. I haven't messed with that stuff since I was in college. Oh ... wait ... uh ...

I'll head to AirVenture next year or possibly the following. I'll probably be doing the wings first, since I get get them done in a year and then store them out of the way.

The tail still needs doing and doesn't cost alot.
On a Bearhawk it's a package deal; I believe the tail is part of the fuse QB kit.

Start your kit! I'm going to have to wait until the spring anyway due to finances. I'm going with thw QB, and can't afford it until then (I'm not going into debt for the plane.) So... between now and then I figued I'd so something quasi-related to the plane. Thanks for all the tips though everyone....

Developing a skill set

Hi all, Besides Van's toolbox and their practice control surface project whoozywhatsit, are there any other small projects / plans out there I could start messing with that would help me develop the skillz I need to start building my 'hawk next year? I'm already fairly adept with woodworking and ele...

You know, I haven't started building yet, but having a newly completed shop (in operation about a month now) is absolutely everything I had dreamed it might be. :) I'm such a kid out there playing with my toys.
