the requisite #40 hole in the index finger,second knuckle to the bone, :oops:

putting cutting fluid on the cut with a fly cutter and getting rapped on the knuckles was a wake up call :o

good guess

FCMAW can be done with or without shielding gas depending on the wire used

two types are innershield and outershield but the flux is in the center of the wire in both, done with shielding gas it gives very deep penetrating welds

it was changed with the advent of FCMAW (Flux Core Metal Arc Welding)

what I did was after dimpleing (with regular dimple dies) was to shave just a couple of thousandths out of the dimple with a countersink

worked out great though there are still a few proud rivet heads :roll:
