Sorry to hear that Ron! Is she involved with the construction process at all? Just wondering, 'cuz I'll be dealing with the same thing in my little world. I am trying to talk it up as much as I can to get her involved with the process. So far, so good...she wants to help! I am going to put cable TV ...

I have been doing a lot of reading and research on the rotary engine, and like spike, am a long time from this point, but this engine has definately got my full attention! I thought, without a doubt, that I'd end up with an IO-360, but now I am wavering from that thought. Be fun to watch over the ne...

The shop is comin' along...
I spent Sunday working on my shop, doing more drywall. Here's a shot of the 1/2 in two and half car garage that'll used for aircraft manufacturing. http://www.rivetbangers.com/albums/hangar/5_23_004.jpg Where the saw horses are, there will be a 4x8 foot table. The florescent light will be hung above...

I live in Illinois where corrosion is not an issue. The '68 Cherokee that I had was an Ohio airplane before I brought it to Illinois, and there was N...

Welcome! :) I have done the training kit that Van's offers, and I would highly recommend making that purchase to practice on. It's $32, and you can screw up, and not worry about that fact that you have just ruined a skin. I am probably going to do a second one to further tune some riveting skills. T...

One of the guys I work with has a $SET$ of Snap On torque wrench's, which he just told me I can borrow anytime. Good deal! I'll probably end up buying one, 'cuz I like to have my own stuff, but it's a nice offer anyway that'll get me by in a pinch. I haven't used the el cheapo Pittsburg, and don't p...

I started a website/builders log last week and put my chronicles of the training kit there. If you're interested, you can check it out here-http://www.chadandbrittne.com/RV-7.htm Hope that links. Anyway, I am done with the kit, and it turned out pretty good. There were several screw ups, but I guess...
