Congratulations Captain John! A real milestone. I hung my engine on 12/11/2005 and I will always remeber that date. It took me about three years to get my airplane signed off(12/18/08) after I hung the engine but hopefully you will be faster at getting the signoff done than I was. You have flown RV-...

Painless is right you are not a true home builder until you shed some blood  However I was able to buy a set o combination box & open end Craftsman gear wrenches for about $39.00. Since then they have been on sale for less of course. They come in handy in other places besides the wheel pant nu...

Therefore if I am using auxliary power for handheld GPS etc the fans are on. I covered the glare shield with some black material and edging that I purchased from Vans. On a c...

Yes I understood that the plan was to leave it in Van Nuys, however I just wanted to share my research on moving Pota-A-Port. My bride would probably want a few more accrutments. We just spent a week in LA and although she isn't real fussy I don't think I could convince her to spend a night or money...

 Obviously you are not yet of the mature generation :P My generation would not worry about the refrigerator but someplace legal to dispose of what is imbeded from the refrigerator 8) Moving that any distance would be a costly affair. About three years ago I was looking for one to move near here...

Assuming you know the answers to the pertinent questions, engine, landing gear configuration(where you put the little wheel) tip up or sliding canopy you can place the order. This is assuming storage of the fuselage kit isn't a problem. Good luck 8) I may have my airplane flying to Sioux Falls in th...

Most homefuilt airplanes use the 12V system. More accessories are available in the 12V. I have a Dynon AOA without a heated pitot tube but I was not planning on IFR. Certainly the heated pitot has advantages but they sure do cost more.

Brian. N755DW was built and flown in this picture by Doug Wieler, President of the MN Wing of Van's Airforce. Doug sold it a few years ago and is now building an RV-7. I think he should be pretty close to having it done. If you go on to Van's web site there is a link to the MN Wing. I have it in the...

Mark, I was not being critical and enjoyed seeing it done. Maybe the profile difference is only in the vertical stab and rudder? Everything else is very close especailly the wind screen section which sure varies by builder. My painter made mine look good.

Mark, very close the N is N784TB. The numbers donate birth month of our three children. Tango is for my wife Terry and B os for Bob. My wing tips have the all in one tip lights. A Green or Red position light, a strobe light, and white tail light. A little pricy but functional and saves the hassel of...

You are safest to leave it alone as Chad suggested and it was Brian's second and really preferred method of dealing with it. I suspect you will never notice it once mounted. It will probably never be noticable in flight. :) I had a slight bend upward on left wing upper outer skin trailing edge on my...
