Well I do have a right brake issue to deal with now that will keep me down for a few days. It's rubbing/dragging, and I think I've burned thru a set of pads already. I need to get better at not relying on the brakes so much, lest it get very expensive to taxi the dang thing!! :bang: So...you have a...

I used to fly an average of about 125 to 150 a year back when the cost of AvGas was reasonable.

I expect I will fly about 80 this year.

Hi CJ, Yes, I realize I could have gone up to 14,000 without Oxy for 30 minutes. Since I was still climbing at 950+ fpm at 12,500, I figured it would have easily made the 14,000 feet so I saw no need to go to 14,000 that day. I'll do a climb to 18,000 once I get around to buying or borrowing an oxyg...

Very nice Mike, Yeah, I have yet to graph them, but will do so and add it to my Owners Manual once I create them. I can vary the time interval on the AFS, I just thought every 3 seconds is plenty of info for normal use. I suppose next time I'm doing time critical stuff, I'll change it to every secon...

Speaking of price increases, when I first bought my tail kit I think it was around $1,200. I see they are now $1,600+. $400 increase in 6 years.. I guess that's not too bad.

I agree, that would work, just be sure the rebend doesn't cause it to crack anywhere.

Climb rates at different airspeeds

Just thought I'd throw out some performance data and see how I compare to others. I did each of these starting at about 1,500 msl, then taking the recorded data from 2,000 msl to 3,000 msl. At 95Kts my climb rated averaged 2,158 fpm and took 28 sec. with a ground speed of 88 kts. At 110 kts = 2,165 ...

That's really Awesome Chad, cause I figure about 1/2 of the phase one's out there, probably aren't anywhere near as thorough as we are ;). I have 2 more hours to go, still tweaking the Vx & Vy numbers a little. I also have a little spin testing to do, but couldn't do that the other day due to low ce...

Re: Same Place..

Hey, I am in the same place as you. Next step is to mount the wings, but I am going to skip that step at least for now. My finish kit will be here in April/May and I want to get to the canopy during the summer months. I have been on the project for 2 years now and am planning for about 2 more befor...

So all the test flights are done ? Flying it at both ends of the CG limits. All the Acro and Acrobatic entry speeds tested ? Vx/Vy's are done ? How about accelerated stalls in both directions, how about with and without flaps ? How about Gross weight flights near the aft CG. ? How high have you flow...

A little late, but wanted to share my thoughts with you also. When I started building, I figured a 4 year plan slow build all the way. 4 years turned into 6 years and 10 months before she flew. Along the way there were certainly plenty of peaks and valleys. Some years work would pick up and I'd have...

Check for a loose connection to that sensor is the first things that come to mind looking at how radically it changes in a short period of time.

Let us know if you find out the cause.
Perhaps also try to repeat the event as well to see if it reocurrs.

My Manifold pressure transducer is on the firewall so the only pass through is the wiring. I've had no issues with it so far and it is working just fine so far. I do recall adding a restrictor (same one as used for the fuel pressure) coming out of the cylinder fitting and then it's a braided line fr...

These would be for strobes only, not Nav lights.
