Rivetbanger Position

There is a job position in my shop opening up and is listed.

It is an I level airframes shop in support of the F/A-18 program in Kuwait.

Pass the word on if you know of any QUALITY metalsmiths in need of employment.

While wandering around I came across a R/C shop , and popped in and took some pics for Chad. The ones hanging on the wall were pretty large, and none had any prices on them and I dont think th...

Tom, sounds like you are enjoying yourself out there! :) CJ Not really, at least not yet. Got some refresher dive training, and then four dives in the Persian gulf. Gonna do a couple more dives this weekend. I like to have a couple beers on occasion, but three months is a little too much for me. Th...

If you keep them bagged and clean, I do not see any problem using them. I dont think the effect would be like drinking milk way past the expiration date.

If in doubt, shoot one or two rivets into a piece of scrap metal before going any farther

I'm not sure who gets the most kudos, you for counting them all, or Tom for hammering well over a million of 'em. I dont deserve any kudos for all those rivets(but a hearing aid down the road would be nice), I have been getting paid for well over twenty years for riveting and being a shee...

Re: Airframe riveting done yet? Yep.

I just gotta ask... are you serious or are you just having some fun with us? Did you really count all those rivets? I am thinking he did, thats why I asked. It wouldnt surprise me if he had an excel file a flow chart and a powerpoint presentation breaking down all the rivets. ;-) I never kept count...

I think anything with a 20 or less pitch is course and 24 pitch or more is fine. Tom may be able to clarify here... It all depends on the diameter of the bolt or screw. Off the top of my head a 1/4"x28 is a national fine, while the 1/4"x20 is national corse Here is a chart off of wiki which shows t...
