Longeron
I believe this qualifies for bonehead move of the day. Lucky for me a local multi builder told me a while back that it is available locally. I will make a call tomorrow to see if they have one in stock. I marked everything from the backside of the angle and marked the 1/8 from the other leg of the a...

Drill bit sets
I am in the market for a drill bit set. Thinking of getting a fractional, number and letter set all in one. Thinking Cobalt but open to other options, want to buy a sharpener also. Wondering if any of you had suggestions on a good set reasonable priced? Harbor freight has a Cobalt set but I have no ...

F 705 bulkhead
I started on the 705 bulkhead. First it says to trim the ends of 705B center section bar as shown on DWG 38. I looked at that and it says to trim the outboard edges of 605C & 705B. So I thought I would wait to trim those parts. I cut the F 705B to length, next I clamped the 705B, 605C bar doublers a...

Wing tip hinges
Mike, Thanks for the pic and link to your write-up. Terry, You will need to order some AN257-P3 hinge pin to suit your installation, use the fiberglass that you cut off the wing as a shim and then you will need some epoxy system. The west systems epoxy seems to be pretty popular. I believe you need ...

Wing tip hinges
Thinking about using hinge pins for my wing tips? I read Chads article in August 2012 Sport Aviation on his installation. He mentions needing .040 aluminum to use as a spacer between the wing skins and the hinge. I have a partial sheet of soft aluminum that is .030 thick, thinking of using that? Won...

Bottom wing skin rivet sequence
For those that have riveted the bottom skins on a 9. Did you follow Van's instructions or try another sequence and how did it turn out? I am wondering about Van's instructions to start at the rear spar and work out and toward the front spar. Mostly wondering about how people's gaps between the leadi...

Bottom wing skins
I do not have a conduit, but I thought I could leave a string in the wing to pull an auto pilot harness thru when I want. The existing wires in the wing have a expandable sleeve over them for protection. Plenty of room left in the bushings for auto pilot harness I believe. I think I will get a tech ...

Bottom wing skins
Sorry for the confusion. I was not thinking of doing them on the fuse. Just wondering if their is any reason to wait till later. I feel I have everything I need in the wings and can put the auto pilot harness in later with the bottom skins on. Thanks for the replys.
