I do still read many of the columns in Flying , but I typically skip the feature. I never miss a Dick Carl column. Besides knowing him (we sold him an airplane a few years back-and still have his old Cessna 340 for sale :bang: ) I love his style-but not necessarily his choices. He has written severa...

I have very similar issues with this magazine as CJ. I would love to someday fly some of those jets that they test, but C'MON!!! Really, who among the readership is capable of pulling the trigger on one of those baby's! I'm sure some are, but gimme more grass roots GA! I do (rarely) get to fly right...

Yeah! No kidding! I made a HUGE mess! It is starting to come together and take the shape of a shop. I plan on wiring the walls before rockin' it. I already have bench receptacles ready to install, I need to buy a new smoke detector (THANKS FOR REMINDING ME!!), I have a 4' high output flourescent to ...

My Saturday 4/30/05

Here's what I spent my ENTIRE day doing after our Chapter breakfast today. http://www.rivetbangers.com/albums/hangar/4_30_05_download_009_1.jpg This is my garage/shop that my father and I are completely remodeling to prepare for my project. The ceiling drywall came down today, and the walls came off...

The annual Holland International Fly In will be Saturday, June 25th at 11:00am til ??? at Jack Holland's farm. I will have a flyer posted soon that can be printed for anyone in the area. I have been looking at compressors on Harbor Frieght's website, and some of the compressors are rated using SCFM vs. CFM.

What's the difference???

Same here. I know it's been around for a long time, but don't know when it became standard in our area. Our house was built in '77, and we use the same load config/120/240 system as CJ.

Snips

I found a great price on a set of three snips from Harbor Frieght. They are Central Pneumatic brand. I am still new to these tool brands, and which ones are good or not.

How does this brand stack up to Wiss, which sounds to me to be the standard?

There was a LOT of people there for breakfast to meet the new Executive Director of the airport. I've never seen every seat filled before! Let me know the next time you'll be down, I'd love to talk to you about your 7A. I have preview plans ordered for the -7, and a training kit that should be here ...

COOL!! I hope weather holds out for you to get it in.

I have been wondering similar things about pneumatic squeezers myself.

Compressors...revisited

I am starting the process of researching tools to buy. I am not going to go with one of pre-assembled kits, but I am going to buy a starter rivet kit with a 3X gun, and then piece together the rest when I see what I am going to need. One thing I will need right up front is an air compressor. There w...
