Egg TBO update

i'm not sure when this bit of news came out, but Jan has published this questions and answer on their website.

"QUESTION: What is the estimated TBO? How about TBO with your supercharger? The Lycoming is typically about 2000 hours, which is considered a long time for small aircraft engines of this class--but when I compare it to a car engine, it always seemed a bit short. Is this short TBO a result of the basic problem with air cooled engines or is it a result of the very conservative safety requirements necessary for airplanes?

ANSWER: 2000 for either. Air cooled engines have a shorter life expectancy."

I'm thinking the same way, Chad. That latest crank bulletin from Lyco is r-e-a-l-l-y disgusting. Large sums of green for a potentially "buggy" engine, whereupon fixing the mfgr's screwups requires more large sums of green.

Some of the guys I've talked to at OSH with Egg-Subies said they had it running the NEXT DAY after they installed it! Try that with ANY Lyco installation.
