New Trutrak User Group

Post by Brantel »

One of the things that bugs me is that Trutrak does not seem to have a user forum. So I started one http://groups.yahoo.com/group/trutrak/.

I am not a big fan of yahoogroups and the way they work but maybe if we get some traffic on there, Trutrak will take notice and open up their own.

If you would like to see some dedicated place to talk about the Trutrak products and your experience with them, spread the word on any other forums that you visit daily.

AFS just did one, and I think it's great... Tru-Trak should follow suit in my opinion. Lets hope it becomes the norm for a lot of the others too.

45 new members yesterday. Now if we can get some discussion going, it would be great.

As far as factory input, we see the other EFIS makers participating all the time here and on other forums so hopefully TT will take notice and participate. It is cheap value add for them and their product. If they don't, oh well, we gave it our best shot.

We now have a Trutrak staff member on the membership of the new group and he has already started answering questions.

Thanks Trutrak for listening and adding value to your product line!

is there any documentation online about obtaining and installing servo brackets for the trutrak and/or trio autopilots?

Are the trutrak prices online including servos?

They have a ton of info available on TT website.

They do sell the install kits for people who do not want to buy the servo at this time.

The prices do include servo's. You can get a much better price from people like Stein or Stark. The prices on the website are higher than the quotes I get from them.

hmm, ok.

If you're in a mood to sell trutrak, can you tell me why the trutrak is better than the trio? (or vice versa for any of ya lurking)

I'm at a point where I want to finalize my choice and install brackets.

I have nothing to do with them other than I plan on using their products on my plane. The list is long why I have made this choice.

There are several threads here and on the VAF that detail tons of info on these two units. Bottom line is that they are both great units but there are some differences and you need to decide for yourself how those differences impact your mission.

Ian I can tell you that with the TT, the brackets are easy to install at any time including on a finished plane.

Ian,

I agree with Brian. The Trutrak brackets can be installed on a finished plane. I did it and it took all of 3-4 hours. The wiring, of course, took a little longer.

I went with the Trutrak Digiflight IIVS because it gave me the option to upgrade to a "GV" unit in the future. I also looked at Trio but did not choose them because their units did not have the "GV" upgrade option. Trutrak's Digiflight series, being a single control unit, anticipates an altitude drop in a turn and begins pitch corrections sooner.

Good Luck!
