I think I waited about 4 to 5 months for it, but I hear the turn-around time is much shorter now that they have ramped up production in the new facility. I was not in a real hurry when I ordered it, so the wait was not so painful.

CJ actually helped in the squeaky wheel department to expidite the order for me.

Ooooh....pretty!

Just kidding...I want one! Of course, I should probably have a fuselage to put it in first.

delivery time

Post by aparchment »

I emailed to order mine this week thinking based on CJ's experience that I would have it for March. They told me I could have it this month! Um, but I don't need it this month. I asked Tricia to delay delivery until March.

My big thing about electronics is that they change so quickly I like to wait as long as possible to buy. I guess that's not quite what is going to happen here. Hopefully I don't get burned by this.

The hardware is not scheduled for any changes.

You will probably see some soft upgrades. Maybe the Spike bug fix that keeps it from crashing when he is in contact with it. Either that or keep Spike away from your EFIS!

Ya gotta love the Italians for keeping everything on the lighter side.

Seriously though, Thermos, your welcome to stop by and check out the EFIS anytime... not sure yet I can offer the same invite for Spikey though. ;)

AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!

I just got my 3500EE and now AFS has a new system. I should have followed my golden rule -- don't buy technology until you absolutely need it. I will not be flying for over a year! Rats.

Pishaw... you need to invest sooner or later.

Besides, look at all those planes flying with Vision VM1000's. That was slick back in the day and they still use them.

All that being said, I have been thinking of upgrading and the new deck hasn't even hit the streets yet!

I see it's also an even bigger display box too, and it's tray mounted.

Not sure I like the tray bit though.. I'd say the existing one makes for a much simpler install and removal process.

The display is supposedly the same size as the 3500 series. However, the plastic bezel is larger than the 3500 series. I like it, but I won't use it. Too much $$$$$ for a single display. If I was building a -10, I would put two in.

I didn't see that coming. I thought I as up on AFS. And a joystick and chars to boot. It looks cool though. Since I'm nowhere close to getting panel equipment, there may be a 7500 by the time I get ready.
