Icom IC-A210 display brightness

Post by painless »

Those of you that have Icom 210's, is the auto dim/bright function set to brighten the display to the maximum by default? I had to replace my 200 due to the display going funky on me, and am slightly disappointed by the brightness of the 210's display, at least in bright sunshine. I'm wondering if I can enter the menu and change the brightness setting per the instruction to increase the maximum intensity. Won't be able to check it out until this weekend, so I'm asking here. Can't find any reference about what it is set to by default.

Damn 50+ eyes...... :bang:

Hey Jeff-

I haven't been all that impressed with the 210's screen brightness either. 99% of the time it is fine, but when the sun is behind it, it can be difficult to view. I haven't played around with the settings in a year or so, but I believe the factory default is full brightness for the screen.

I'm hoping maybe I missed something and you will let me know how to make it brighter!!!

Had a chance to check out the brightness setting, and sorry to report that it is indeed set to maximum brightness by default.

Sorry Mike. Just like me, I can't make you any brighter either! :)
