One Enigma please!
One Enigma please!
I ordered my EFIS this week from Craig Vincent out in Stockton, CA. He's a new MGL dealer, and an RV guy, so I ordered the full boat Enigma from him (except the autopilot option...gotta see it first before I order).
EFIS this week, prop order is going out next week (Catto three blade), and I've talked to Abby at FlightLine Interiors. Brit and I have decided on colors, so that order will go out next week too! Yippee!!

Craig Vincent is a good guy. He comes to our Chapter 90 meetings in Oakdale. He's a member of the Stockton chapter. He's also starting a LSA business. He'll take good care of you.

Yeah, I got a good vibe from him over the phone, and he's been a regular at the "other" place, so I am very comfortable with dealing with him. I've never had a single problem with ANY RV people along this little adventure, and I don't expect that I will.svanarts wrote:Craig Vincent is a good guy. Can't wait to get this thing!

I am looking forward to ordering all of that stuff too. Though the thought of it gives me a sinking feeling in my wallet.

Small delay in shipping, but this is a good thing! Craig Vincent called me today to ask if it was okay to delay the Enigma a couple weeks in order to get the new MKII screen. A quick "Sure!" from me, and I agreed to the delay. Actually, I told him to wait to ship it until after Oshkosh, so I'm home to get it off the porch.
The new screen is supposed to be above and beyond better than the first gen screen.
This should be cool!!

That price is pretty reasonable when you compare it to the GRT/AFS solutions (I left dynon out because they don't have a moving map). However, I can't get over how mugly their button layout is. As shallow as it may be, that is the reason why I am not even considering MGL.

Here is a quote from the mfg on the buttons from another forum:
I thought they seemed ok when I checked them out at Osh last year. I'm curious to get feedback from Chad and others as they put them into service.Durability, moisture resistance, easy to clean, no ingress of dirt, nice "feel" - they all "click".
These are actualy more expensive to make than "rubber" or similar keypads and are in fact made to military specifications. They should not be confused with similar keypads found in some "cheap" applications. This is a different ball-game.

Hilarious! I'll probably take a look at them at Osh, but I can't get around the aesthetics of the keypad nor the retro white outlines around everything including the bezel. But...she has a nice personality! Great feature set - Chad, if you need to borrow my power supply (if you don't have one) to fire that baby up when it arrives, holler.svanarts wrote:It kind of reminds me of an ATM.
