Amanda and I took a quick trip to Wichita for her cousin’s wedding this past weekend. We saw some significant weather roll through Saturday night, including 55-knot ground winds at Jabara Airport, but I had peace of mind knowing the aircraft was properly secured.
The flight there required a fuel stop at Mexico, but we flew direct on the way back. With a nice tailwind, we covered 620 nm in 3.5 hours, burning only 27 gallons total.
I did some jogging around downtown Wichita a couple times. It nicer than it was 40 years ago.
