First(for me)

Post by Tom Harp »

It may not qualify technically as a first for the plane, but it was mine as PIC in an RV. My partner and I recently finished a partial re-build of an RV-4 that had been dormant for years, and became a mouse condo. Over the last three or four(?) years ,we got the thing back together with new bottom wing skins after an extensive cleaning and priming effort.
I flew it last Friday evening and again this afternoon for an hour or so. The oohs and ahhs I've heard and read about Rv's are for real!!!! I've never flown anything like it. I think I heard our Pitenppol whimpering when I got back.

Conratulations Tom!,

I'm glad it all worked out well & you are able to let this prop return to the air. Good on ya.

When you can, please post some pictures of your new wings. Thanks.

Tom, I have set you up with your own personal gallery. In all of your posts, at the bottom, there is a button labeled "Galley". Click that and it will take you to yours. Once there, there will be a link on the left side of the page that says "Add Item", click on that to bring up a page that will allow you to specify images to upload.

There are step by step instructions in this thread in our support forum for uploading images to your gallery.

Once they are in your gallery it is very easy to include them into your posts. There is are step by step instructions on how to do that in this second thread in the support forum.

If you have problems or something is not working let me know with a private message or something.

I look forward to seeing your pictures!

Hi Folks:
Those pictures are in the gallery that John was so kind to set up for me , and baby step me through to the up-loading ordeal. I don't remember learning to fly being as difficult. Anyway, I hope you enjoy them.
Anybody have any idea what speed increases we might expect when the wheel -pants are added?
Blessings
Tom

Is that morse code on the VS? If so what does it say? I can't quite read it from the photos.
