While there I participated as a safety pilot for newbies, and also flew formation to help keep currency with my FFI wingman card.
It was a great weekend of weather, flying, and comradery. Did I also mention that they have a great barbecued pork in PA.

Anyhow, the trip back on Sunday made me really appreciate the RV-4's performance yet again.
The 270 nm trip back home to EWB took only 1 hour and 45 minutes.
I climbed up to 9,500 for the trip home and saw at times a 170 kt ground speed, while I flew at a very conservative rpm of 2,450. I only used 12.4 gallons of gas to do it as well. I would think that I got better gas mileage than a standard auto would have for the trip.
The view was sweet from that altitude, and I always feel much safer up high since it gives you more time to take care of issues should there be a problem.
I'll try to post some pictures of the weekend once I recieve them from the guys who took them.
Keep pounding them rivets... your gonna love it for trips like these.
