Splashin' and Dashin'!

Post by captain_john »

Hey All,

I am on vacation up here in Rangeley, Maine. I am doing some floatplane stuff and the WX is good!

Here is 39G, a good old 172 with a recent O-320:

Late in the day the water settles down real nice!

Here is a pic of Wyatt and me on the Freedom ship:

Hey John,

Looks like a really really really nice place to vacation and have fun.

Part of me wishes I could find the time and extra money to come up and join you, but my vacation money got spent on OSH this year.

Looks like you are having a blast. Work here is picking up again, but I did manage to start drilling on the top, rear skin of the 8 yesterday.

Tomorrow evening we are taking the kids to see a Red Sox game.
Would be nice if they could find a way to beat Detroit for us, specially since they lost the last two games against them.

Anyway, give a ring when you get back so we can catch up and talk about all the fun your having.

Looks good John. If you are around this weekend I will touch base. I will also check with Ken to see if his 7 is back together. He was finishing painting the cowl last weekend.

Hey, All!

Yah, it is as much fun as it appears to be. One more week before school starts again!

Gotta get that firewall done!

In the meanwhile, Mister Moose paid us a visit!

This was the only shot I got off. I didn't have the Model 70, 30-'06 with me this time!!!

Tomorrow I am getting the C-180 on floats!!! It has the 300 hoss and a three bladed airscrew!

UPDATE!!!

The 180 has a Conti O-470 with 230 hosses, but flies REALLY NICE!

Tonight is my last night here. Pretty soon it is back to reality. The top goes back on the JEEP next week.

The summer is OVER!
