Got my first RV ride!!

Post by lancef53 »

I got my first RV ride on tuesday, it proves that I made the right choice!!

How many others on here were silly enough to decide what plane they wanted before they had been in one?

It was a quick ride in a friends RV 8, but it was all I needed!

I finished corn harvest yesterday, so with any luck, another week of falls wor, and I will be able to start working on the kit!!

Congrats Lance! At least you got your ride before you started building! I know you have your tail kit, but I had been working on mine for three months before I ever got a ride in one! I'm sure there are people that are well in to their kit, and still haven't had rides...

They are SWEET, aren't they!!?? 8)

You are not the only one Lance, I was into building my tail kit before I even got up close to an RV. I still haven't had a ride in a 7A, just a tail dragging 6, but I figure that was close enough.

It was great, much better than I expected. I am a big guy, 6'4" and 235, and I was amazed how much room was in the back seat, and how much legroom there is.

Now a neighbor heard I was done combining, so they want me to come and help for a few days--maybe I can make a few bucks to spend on the RV!!!

Like others, I too had been working on my tail kit before having ever ridden in an RV.

I took a leap of faith as well.

I, too, was halfway done with my tail before I got a ride. I flew a -6 slider and, later, a -7A tip-up, and both rides definitely confirmed that I made the right choice!

The latter ride also made me pretty sure i want to build a tip-up :)

Me too, me too.

I was well into the fuselage of my RV-4 before I ever got a ride in one. I made the decision to build based off sitting in an RV-4 for about 2 minutes one day.

You're not alone and you won't be disappointed.

Add me to the list of tail it builders before getting a ride. I sat in one at OshKosh and ordered it when I got home. Later that fall my tech advisor took me up in his 6A and his friend took my son in his 7A. We traded off on the return flight so I got to ride in two RV's that day. Really sold me on them!
