First Flight N 784TB on 5/9/09

Post by Bob Barrett »

First Flight of my RV-6A was on Saturday 5/9/09 at about 10 AM. No major squawks. Two flights were made by test pilot Tom Irlbeck one of .4 of an hour and the other 1.1 hour. It was a big thrill  :) 23.5 hours of test flying to do. For pictures see http://www.mnwing.org where there is a more detailed write up.

No I haven't flown it yet. I lost my medical five years ago because of some heart problems. My Cardiolgist states there is no reason I shouldn't fly an airplane. However the FAA Medical people disagree. I can't even fly a light sport airplane because my medical was denied. I have some friends who are going to fly the time off and then I will get a ride in it. I plan to have more than one after the 25 hours! They want volunter drivers all the time and I periodicly drive six people in our Dodge Mini-Van but I cannot be trusted to fly my wife and I in my two place RV-6A :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:

P.S. I am still able to donate blood every six weeks also but hopefully no one from the FAA will have to get any of my blood. :bang:

Bob,

Way to go!

Seems like this site is getting it's share of flying projects!

The airshows are going to be more and more fun!
