Lesson learned

Post by cjensen »

So since I pretty much have much of my life and experiences on the Internet, I thought I'd post my lesson learned today. The Fuel tank is fixed and reinstalled and the day was just too nice to pass up flying.

I'll cut right to the chase...I decided to roll the 7 today. While fun, I didn't do it right and ended up with the typical newbie mistake of being nose down and 90 degrees off from where I started. Not a huge deal since I was at almost 7000' (6000' AGL) to start. I can see how people get killed doing this at low attitudes...I lost 1000' pretty quickly but recovered safely and without blowing thru Vne or anything.

Good lesson learned...I'm glad I tried it at altitude...and I won't do it again without going over my mistakes with my aerobatics instructor. Yes, I do have one, and he'll get a kick out of this, I'm sure...

Good to be flying again!!!!

I am impressed that you got the tank on that fast. Good man.

WRT your story, its a small world. I did 4 rolls in the backseat of an 8A today. The lesson I learned was to stop once you start getting messages from your gut cause that last one can make you miserable

Congrats Chad. I'm real happy for ya!
