AOPA fly in at Chino

Post by bruceh »

Time to expand the Phase 2 flying, so I RSVP'ed for a free lunch at the AOPA fly-in at Chino. I had to wait for the morning coastal clouds to burn off, then we dodged some clouds on the way up to Chino. Getting into the Temecula approach was fun. Those controllers were really busy. We had to move from 26R over to 26L on final, then taxied to parking. Got to see some interesting airplanes and check out all of the vendors after a quick lunch. They had $4.99 a gallon gas, so we filled up and headed back to Ramona. I only had to wait for 4 airplanes ahead of us, so we got out before the big crowds started leaving.
