Ramona Airport Open House 2015

Post by bruceh »

We had a typical day of gorgeous weather here in SoCal for the Ramona Airport Open House. My wife and I took off for an early morning flight to go get breakfast in Hemet at Hangar One Cafe. There was a car show going on at that airport, so we had to wait for a table, but we got to see a bunch of cool cars. Back to Ramona and the skies were getting crowded. We got the airplane back in the hangar and then hung out and talked to numerous folks who came by. Good to see old friends and make new ones. Some of my wife's High School engineering class students came by to check out the airplane. We are hoping at some point to get the school to do an Eagles Nest type of RV-12 build project. I closed up the hangar briefly to go wander around the rest of the airport and check out the airplanes. Lots of RV's, Warbirds, Classics and the Cal Fire planes to look at. I met up with another friend and ended up giving his buddy (non-pilot) a flight in the RV-9A just around the local area. At the end of the day I got a chance to get a tour of our tower and put faces to the voices.

Photos are here.
